A cosy November in the Studio : Prepping for Christmas Launches
A cosy November in the Studio
November always feels like the start of something magical. We have just had the thrills of Halloween and now as the nights get darker and the season turns to winter, the shops, the streets and my little art desk is getting ready for some festive magic.
This month I am working on two special projects: a Christmas sticker sheet (…of course!) and a Christmas story colouring book. Both are still in the sketching and planning phase but are looking to make an appearance in my shop soon!
Planning the Christmas Sticker Sheet
When I think of Christmas, it is always looked back on as this magical, warm, cosy family affair that I absolutely adore! No matter how hard the year had been in our home my mum always made sure that Christmas was extra special! With beautiful decorations, home baking, extra naughty sweets and chocolates, and lots of games, laughs and giggles.
As I’ve grown older, I also love to share that Christmas cheer in the form of baking gingerbread and mince pies for my colleagues… every year… without fail. The only exception to that was last year… because I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy on Christmas Day morning. Now my Christmas’ will be extra special and filled with even more love.
Naturally, this sticker sheet is going to have a lot of love put into it and will be filled with all my favourite things about Christmas. I’m talking gingerbread men, snowmen, mince pies, cookies and milk, stockings, reindeer, the big man himself Santa! And lots more.
But what I found when I was making these characters is that I could create a story behind them all … and that sparked a magical idea!

A Christmas Story Comes to Life…
The second project is a little different – a Christmas Story Colouring book!
I’ve been wanting to create something interactive and story driven for a while, and it feels like the perfect time. Every Christmas Eve my mum, sister and I would hunker down under blankets on the sofa all snuggled together in our pyjamas and read our favourite Christmas stories. I even kept and read them to my bump on Christmas Eve last year … and clearly baby boy wanted to experience Christmas for himself and made his appearance the next morning!
So, making my sticker characters and putting a story behind them … it seemed only natural to make a book out of it. And what do kids and adults like more to relax than to colour in!
I’m still deciding as to whether it’ll be a printable download so you can print them at home, or a physical book that can be shipped out to you that I will publish from right here in my little studio! (I’m still researching and thinking this part over!)
I am also thinking over whether to do two options… a colouring in option… or just a story book? What are your thoughts? Let me know over on Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/the_littlestickershop
Slowing down to create…
This time of year, can get busy so quickly, but I’m trying to keep my creative process slow and intentional – letting my ideas unfold naturally. There is nothing worse than an art block, so I am really trying to keep the pressure off and do it at my own pace, so I am not going to be creating a deadline for this as I want to enjoy the process.
I love that art can bring a sense of calm during the festive rush, and I hope these projects do the same for you when they’re ready!
Coming Soon…
Both the Christmas Sticker Sheet and the Christmas story colouring book will be available as soon as possible – but don’t worry… it will be here in time before Santa comes!
